LowCarbConferences (Low Carb Denver) Merges with LowCarbUSA®

In a significant development for the low-carb community, LowCarbConferences, founded by Dr. Jeffrey Gerber and known for its successful Low Carb Denver event, has officially merged with LowCarbUSA®, bringing together their expertise and resources to further advance the science and education of low-carb, ketogenic, and metabolic therapies. This strategic move marks a major step forward in promoting therapeutic carbohydrate reduction (TCR) and improving global metabolic health.

As part of the merger, LowCarbUSA will now organize and host any future Symposium for Metabolic Health (SMH) conferences under its brand. Founded in 2015 by Doug Reynolds, MHP (CEO) and Pam Devine, MHP (Operations Manager), LowCarbUSA has established itself as a leader, offering a trusted platform for conferences, coaching, and an extensive collection of evidence-based research.

Doug Reynolds is also president of the Society of Metabolic Health Practitioners (The SMHP™), a non-profit organization supporting healthcare professionals through education, accreditation and advocacy which collaborates closely with LowCarbUSA. As part of the merger, The SMHP will accept the website and social media assets from LowCarbConferences as a charitable donation, enabling the consolidation of both entities. Moving forward, all conferences will be branded under LowCarbUSA and The SMHP, strengthening their collective ability to deliver high-quality, evidence-based events to an expanding audience.

Reflecting on the transition, Dr. Jeffry Gerber, who has led Low Carb Denver since 2016, remarked, “After many rewarding years of organizing these conferences, I realized it was time to pass the torch. I’ve long admired the work Doug and Pam have done with LowCarbUSA, and this merger feels like the perfect next step. I’ll continue to support their mission and ensure the low-carb message reaches even more people.”

Doug Reynolds echoed this sentiment, stating, “This is a tremendous opportunity to strengthen our efforts in delivering evidence-based information on metabolic health. By incorporating LowCarbConferences into LowCarbUSA, we are better positioned to reach a broader audience and provide healthcare practitioners with the tools they need to guide their patients toward lasting health improvements.”

Pam Devine highlighted the significance of the merger for the broader metabolic health movement: “This merger unites two passionate communities with a shared goal to collaborate and advance the science and understanding of therapeutic carbohydrate reduction. It positions us to continue hosting high-quality events and expanding our educational programs. We’re just getting started, and there’s so much more we can accomplish together.”

There are no plans for a 2025 event in Denver but the unified organization will continue hosting well-established conferences in key locations like Boca Raton and San Diego, with plans to explore an additional venue in the middle of the country in the future.

Doug, Pam, and their team are optimistic about the future, with the combined expertise of LowCarbUSA and LowCarbConferences now offering the low-carb community a stronger platform than ever to drive forward life-changing metabolic health solutions. As Doug Reynolds puts it, “We’re building something bigger than any one event or conference—this is about continuing to build a community affecting lasting change in how we approach nutrition and metabolic health.”

LowCarbUSA and The SMHP rely on the continued support of their members to help the organization grow. Your participation is vital to their success, enabling them to host events, share the latest science, advocate for low-carb health solutions, and reach a larger audience. Attending these events in person offers a unique opportunity to re-energize, learn, earn CME, and share ideas with like-minded friends and colleagues, but they can also be accessed virtually.

We invite you to join LowCarbUSA and The SMHP for  their upcoming events, including Boca Raton, San Diego, and other potential future locations.

Pam expressed her appreciation to those who have  been involved with  the organization over the years: “We are deeply grateful to everyone who has participated  along the way. Your contributions have made a real difference, and we invite others to join this global effort to improve metabolic health. Together, we can continue to grow this incredible community and make a lasting impact.”
