In 2019 LowCarbUSA® will be spreading it’s wings a little… well a lot actually. In the first week in April we will be joining forces with LowCarbIndonesia® to host the First Low Carb Event in Asia. The event will feature, high profile names such as Dr. Gerogia Ede, Dr, Gary Fettke, Dr. Eric Westman and a couple more to be announced soon. After that we head down to take over a boutique hotel in Hobart, Tasmania for a very exclusive retreat (which is also a first), but more about that in a couple of weeks when we go live with that endeavour. This first ever event in Asia will be held in Jakarta, April 6th – 7th, 2019, at Nusa Indah Theater, Balai Kartini, which is known to be one of Jakarta’s World-Class venues. There will be simultaneous translation services in place so that both English and local Indonesian attendees will be able to understand all the presentations.
About a year ago an incredible young man called Tyo Prasetyo reached out to me from Jakarta and asked for our help in hosting an event in Indonesia. It’s not surprising that Tyo’s friends and colleagues refer to him as ‘The Light In The Darkness’. Turns out he is an electrical engineer just like me and, like me, went through a personal life-changing experience with the Ketogenic diet. He also felt the need to let more people know about this and so he started travelling around Indonesia putting on seminars to teach doctors about the value of the Low Carb Lifestyle. He has developed a large following of converted doctors who are all waiting for this first international Low Carb event in Asia with great anticipation.
We hope this will be the first of many events in that region. Already there is talk in 2020 of doing a stop in a few other cities including Bali and we have even been approached to take it to Singapore as well. We look forward to seeing where this road will lead us. We will be spending a couple of days in Bali with the speakers after the event and we would love to see a bunch of you there.
