Dr. Kristie Sullivan will be appearing on our main stage at the next LowCarbUSA® – San Diego event in July 2018.  She began her low carb journey in 2013 after a lifetime struggle with obesity.   At the age of 30, she had gastric bypass surgery, she has tried Weight Watchers, acupuncture, B12 injections, low-fat, low-calories, bromelain supplements, strict exercise, and more to lose weight.  Nothing worked for her.

Her Ph.D. research in Educational Policy and Policy Analysis at North Carolina State University led her to studying medical journals and her interest in nutritional science was sparked.  Then she found a book by Gary Taubes called Why we get fat and that was the turning point.  She adopted a ketogenic diet plan by Dr. Eric Westman and the low-carb-high-fat lifestyle changed her world.  She says she finally experienced life untethered from the emotional attachment to food.

She was so inspired by her personal success that she wanted to help others learn how a low carb diet and clean eating can be a delicious lifestyle.  So she started teaching informal classes and when that got too big she started recording the classes.  When she didn’t have room to store her videos anymore her brother suggested she start a YouTube channel called Cooking Keto with Kristie.  She has also published a collection of easy, everyday low carb recipes called, Journey to Health: A Journey Worth Taking.

Kristie now has a growing following of over 100,000 loyal viewers who enjoy how she explains and simplifies ketogenic food.  She recently made a series of cooking videos for Diet Doctor and you can find a preview to that in the video below.  In fact it was Andreas Eenfeldt from Diet Doctor who suggested we consider her as a main stage speaker at our next Low Carb USA event.  Make sure you come and see her and get inspired.
